Meet the Umkhumbane Focus Radio Team

Conrad Buthelezi comes from Area 1 in Cato Crest. He was among the first to settle in the area and has played a huge role in the development of Cato Manor. He is bringing valuable knowledge to the project. He is part of the team that will be presenting news on development-related issues.	Nokuthula Mvubu comes from Bonela. She brings motherly advice to the Umkhumbane Focus team and she is also involved with adult basic education programmes in Cato Manor. Nokuthula is part of the sales and marketing team.
Nana Buyiswa Madlala comes from KwaMasixhawulane. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Science from the University of Durban-Westville. Nana has pledged to do in-depth coverage of who’s who in Cato Manor She is also a member of the team that will be involved in sales and marketing of the radio project.	Ruth Thipe hails from Chesterville. She is committed to serving the community by focusing on health-related issues. Her passion is educating the youth about the importance of education, and living a life free of drugs and crime.
Cynthia Memela is a resident of Bonela. She is a down-to-earth woman who loves helping the sick and the elderly. Sales and marketing is her domain.	Nokwazi Ngcongo lives in Manor Gardens. She is the youngest member of the Umkhumbane Focus team and is charged with bringing the History of Cato Manor to the listeners.
“Umkhumbane Focus listeners. I am Scelo Xulu from Mahlathi Road in Chesterville. On the Umkhumbane Focus I shall be interacting with community development structures. We will be dealing with issues relating to skills development for the empowerment of our people. Stay close to your radios for the best in news and development.”	The charismatic Sakhile Msani lives in Chesterville. He holds a law degree but radio broadcasting is his passion. Sakhile is an integral part of the news team. He adds experience to the team because of his involvement with the campus-based radio station at the University of Transkei where he studied.
Pinky Gumede comes from KwaMasixhawulane. She is also a part time student with Unisa. “Every Wednesday between 7pm and 8pm stay tuned for informative news of what’s happening around you. We will be bringing hard and factual news,” says Pinky.	Mduduzi Ngema comes from Cato Crest. Mduduzi has a Diploma in Journalism. He is part of the news gathering team. He will also be featured as a news reader in the show.
Lucky Cele was born and bred in Chesterville. Lucky holds a degree in communications which he obtained at the University of the Western Cape. He is passionate about making the world a true global village where everyone has access to information. His motto is “Knowledge is Power”. Lucky is part of the news team.	Bongiswa Mngomeni is a resident of Bonela. She is no relation to the Orlando Pirates midfield maestro Thabo. But she is part of the Umkhumbane Focus team that will be doing Crime Watch.
The ever-smiling Bheki Majola comes from the Fast Track West in Wiggins. He is the host of Umkhumbane Focus. Bheki does not want to reveal much about his life but he says if you want to find out tune in on 101.5 fm on the 4th July and find out.	Thobeka Debe comes from the Fast Track East. She has a Certificate in Radio Broadcasting which she obtained in Gauteng. She is part of the news team, and will present Crime Watch.
Irene Mokhesi comes from the Fast Track East in Wiggins. She will be making sure that listeners are better informed about housing opportunities. Irene is also a part of the technical team that is responsible for broadcasting programmes that are full of quality.	Not pictured Jackie Manqele lives in Chesterville. Jackie is heavily involved in youth upliftment programmes in the township. He holds a Diploma in Marketing. He is part of the technical team.
