The changes that are occurring at IZWI
will mean readers will now enjoy a copy
of their favourite on a monthly basis.

Over the past five years IZWI has been fortunate to receive funding from donor organisations such as USAID and the European Union. The good news is that the funding has been extended, but IZWI is expected to generate its own revenue from advertising to remain sustainable.

Clearly the continued success of the newspaper will therefore depend on our readers placing their ads with us. In return we will guarantee that the services advertised will be well marketed throughout Cato Manor.

In order to save costs we also have to change our distribution methods. In the past we employed a network of distributors who delivered the newspaper door to door. Forthcoming editions will be distributed differently. It is now going to be placed at spazas and shops throughout Cato Manor and the surrounding areas, and readers will be able to pick up their free copies there.

Initially IZWI will be reduced to four pages per edition, but we hope to increase the number of pages as we attract more advertising. We also plan to publish monthly from now on. Readers must be on the look-out for IZWI posters that will announce the availability of each new edition.
